Baby Scrub Jay: Update

So our little, baby Western Scrub Jay seems to be doing very well! This is the little jay that Davey discovered in our back yard a few weeks ago.

It and its sibling have figured out how to fly and no longer spend much time on the ground (though we do see them there from time to time). Now they follow their parents around and tend to hang out in the back yard apple tree or the front yard oleander.

This morning I think one of the parents was trying to teach it about the bird bath.

So far the baby just sits on the oleander and watches. Soon, hopefully, it'll decide to take a bath.
